Ladies’ Guide to Etiquette

Design and art are major interests to me, but so is history. It’s great fun when I get to combine them. In an effort to learn InDesign better, I re-designed an 1875 etiquette book available on the internet. There were many challenges involved in updating the style, since the book itself has a few different ways of displaying information.

Here’s some comparison images between the original PDF and the one I redesigned. I tried to stick close to its layout for the most part, except for adding more space and obvious headings. The whole reason I started this was to make a reference for myself that was easier to read and search through.
